I have been procrastinating about starting a blog and web-site for awhile now, but it is time. I will be the “Featured Quilter” at my traditional quilt guild, the Boundary Bay Quilt Guild, on May 6 and 7, 2017 at the South Delta Rec Centre in Tsawwassen, BC.
I decided since people will see my custom longarm work at the show, I should get a web-site/blog going. My new friend and fellow Vancouver Modern Quilt Guild member, Lysa Mair, aka Lysa Flower, www.lysaflower.com/ designed my logo for me. It is so cute!! Thanks so much Lysa!!
I really do the longarm quilting in my spare time so prefer to do custom, modern long-arm quilting. Here are a couple of samples of work that I have done. My favourite ones have been for my friends, Arita Rai (@arquilters on Instagram). I quilted her “No Running” quilt hoping that it would get into Quiltcon. It was a reject unfortunately, but I still love it. I love that Arita took a www.youpatch.com pattern and made it scrappy.
Another example of a quilt that I recently did and that you will be able to see at the Boundary Bay show is called “Aunt Glad’s Quilt Parts”. This was made by another VMQG member, Kristen Andrews (@_kristenandrews_ on Instagram). I got a lot of my quilting inspiration for this quilt from classes I took from Kathleen Riggins (www.kathleenquilts.com) and from the fabulous stencils that I got from Jodi Robinson https://jrdesigns.wordpress.com/
You can check out some of my other quilts and quilting examples in my Gallery.
I have been quilting for about 25 years, watching TV and knitting for a lot longer. I hope to share some those passions here.
